LES simulations of "Parameterising cloud base updraft velocity of marine stratocumuli" -manuscript

Description

This data holds the UCLALES-SALSA low-level cloud (marine stratocumulus) simulations to have been used to create updraft velocity parameterisations in the manuscript "Parameterising cloud base updraft velocity of marine stratocumuli". See https://github.com/ECLAIRscripts/README/ and manuscript: https://acp.copernicus.org/preprints/acp-2021-757/ for further information. Source data
Initial values for the 4 different simulations set available in https://github.com/JaakkoAhola/DESIGN/ The set of initial values was based on sampling ECHAM data with Binary Space Partition method., *.ts.nc files Timeseries of meteorological and aerosol properties of the simulated clouds, *.ps.nc files Cloud profile timeseries of meteorological and aerosol properties of the simulated clouds, *.nc files 4D (x,y,z, time) data of meteorological and aerosol properties of the simulated clouds
Model

Data levels (meter, hectoPascal, degree, sigma pressure levels, other) in vertical direction(+/-) for example 1500 m or 850 hPa
  • Level: below 3000m, varying vertical resolution from 1 to 20 meters depending on the initial cloud top height.
  • Level unit: meter
