Airborne albedo observations from the SNORTEX campaign

Description

These files contain airborne measurements of surface albedo and leaf area index of snow-covered boreal forest, taken during the SNORTEX campaigns of 2008-2010 in Finnish Lapland (near Sodankylä). Files contain geolocation and flight altitude information, calibrated radiative flux measurements, and derived albedo and leaf area index estimates.

Use of the albedo data requires citation of the following reference: Terhikki Manninen, Jean-Louis Roujean, Olivier Hautecoeur, Aku Riihelä, Panu Lahtinen, Emmihenna Jääskeläinen, Niilo Siljamo, Kati Anttila, Timo Sukuvaara and Lauri Korhonen, ”Airborne measurements of surface albedo and leaf area index of snow-covered boreal forest”, Journal of Geophysical Research Atmospheres.
